Jessica Hardy’s positive drug test is the focus of Friday’s edition of The Morning Swim Show, which also features an interview with Lara Jackson, the third-place finisher in the 50 free at the Olympic Trials.
Host Peter Busch gets viewers caught up on the most recent news about Hardy’s positive drug test, then speaks with Lara Jackson, who finished third just a few hundredths behind Hardy in the 50 free. Jackson said she was shocked by the news of the drug test and heard from her personal coach Frank Busch, who is a member of the Olympic coaching staff. Jackson said Busch called mostly to check on her personally, and was not making an official call to say anything about her placement on the Olympic team.
Jackson goes on to say she hopes the issue is resolved quickly, and that there should be something done to make sure the results of drug tests are announced in time to make roster changes before deadlines.
Swimming World publisher Brent Rutemiller joins Busch to talk about the process of breaking the story and what this could mean for the US Olympic team in Beijing.Video Categories
