On the way to the pool for the third night of finals at the Irish Open in Dublin, Zach Fong volunteered his services to be a special Swimming World correspondent and interviewed his American teammates sitting next to him on the bus.
Fong, one of the men’s co-team captains, drilled Alex Lebed about his favorite captain on the team and his unique training circumstances. He then turned the microphone to his Jersey Wahoos teammate Jonathan Burkett and talked about his supposed desire to train with the sprinters despite admitting to be “a mid-distance swimmer.”
Fong was not to go without being an interview subject, and Lebed took the lead for a brief chat with Fong.
Special thanks to Riley Scott for serving as videographer.
