Yannick Agnel Upends Jeremy Stravius in 200 Free at 2015 French Short Course Championships
Yannick Agnel clipped Jeremy Stravius in the men’s 200-meter free at the 2015 French Short Course Championships.
Agnel, still on the comeback trail after winning the 200-meter free gold medal at that 2012 London Olympics then having an inconsistent career ever since, led the way with a 1:42.96.
Stravius took second in 1:43.62 after winning four golds this week already. Jordan Pothain wound up third in 1:44.01.
Femke Heemskerk crushed the field in the women’s 200-meter free with a 1:52.53. Margaux Fabre finished second in 1:55.54 with Ophelie-Cyrielle Etienne claiming third in 1:55.70.
Melanie Henique took home the women’s 50-meter free in 24.37 with Anna Santamans placing second in 24.49. Femke Heemskerk snared third in 24.57.
Mehdy Metella topped the men’s 50-meter fly in 22.90 with Fred Bousquet taking second in 23.01. Clement Mignon earned third in 23.29.
Lara Grangeon captured the women’s 400-meter IM in 4:34.52. Fantine Lesaffre picked up second in 4:35.62 with Cyrielle Duhamel earning third in 4:42.70.
Quentin Coton finished first in the men’s 200-meter breast with a time of 2:07.70. William Debourges touched second in 2:08.00 with Giacomo Perez Dortona winding up third in 2:08.22.
Camille Gheorghiu won the women’s 200-meter back in 2:08.52. Pauline Mahieu placed second in 2:08.55 with Anais Podevin taking third in 2:10.01.
