The final day of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) began with morning preliminary races.
In the women’s 200-yard backstroke, Rose-Hulman’s Ellie Hong set the pace with a time of 2:02.10. Wheaton’s Chris Szymczak took first in the men’s prelims with a time of 1:49.43.
Wheaton’s Kirsty Nitz touched first in the women’s 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.18. A Wheaton swimmer also took first in the men’s event. Jack O’Connor touched in 45.33.
In the women’s 200-yard breaststroke, Katie Deysher of Wheaton touched in 2:22.67. Elliot Penson, also of Wheaton, set the pace for the men. The senior touched in 2:04.20.
Milikin’s Caroline Lodovisi took the top spot in the 200-yard butterfly. The freshman touched in 2:13.25. Sophomore Chris Dingfield was first in the men’s race with a time of 1:51.09. Dingfield represents Wheaton.
Carthage currently leads the men’s meet. Wheaton is ahead of all women’s teams.
