ATHENS, Georgia, November 15. THIS evening at an NCAA interdivisional matchup between NCAA DI Georgia and NCAA DIII Emory, the Bulldogs picked up a pair of wins as the women won 130-97 and the men claimed a 137-73 triumph.
Our own Rebecca Noblett was on hand for the enjoyable competition, and spoke with a few Bulldogs as well as a pair of sisters.
Georgia head coach Jack Bauerle talked about the Bulldogs all racing hard in off events this evening, as well as the guts it takes for Emory to continue to compete against teams like UGA. Bauerle also looks forward to the Duel in the Pool as he leads the squad in Scotland.
All-everything performance Chase Kalisz talks about his strong backstroke swims this evening, as the world-class IMer continues to try to improve on one of his few weaknesses. This evening, Kalisz put up a 48.78 relay leadoff on the 400 medley relay as well as an NCAA B cut 1:45.61 in the 200 back. He also clocked a 20.69 anchor on UGA’s 200 free relay of 1:23.01 that exhibitioned.
Meanwhile, sisters Courtney (Emory) and Amber McDermott (Georgia) talk about getting the chance to compete against each other, and how much they text back and forth about this meet.
