(Video Interview) Maya DiRado Does Not Miss Swimming
Maya DiRado swam the meet of her life at the Rio Olympic Games this summer, winning a pair of gold medals along with two silver and a bronze, including an upset win in the final of the women’s 200 back, which she had already declared the final race of her career.
For her efforts, DiRado was nominated for three Golden Goggle awards, but she did not like her chances in any of the categories (Race of the Year, Relay of the Year and Athlete of the Year). In this pre-show interview, she explained why that was, and she also discussed why she does not miss being in the water in her retirement.
Before all that, she explained why she’s excited to see Stanford’s women’s team race this weekend and revealed that she will be among the spectators at this year’s NCAA championships in Indianapolis.
