Continuing to emerge as one of the world’s best backstrokers, Kathleen Baker won one medal of each color at this summer’s World Championships: silver in the 100 back, bronze in the 200 back and gold as a member of the U.S. women’s 400 medley relay. On that relay, Baker helped break the first world record of her career.
Before the Golden Goggles last week, Baker explained what it meant to her and her teammates to run down that relay world record and how it has felt to develop into one of the older, more experienced swimmers on the U.S. national team.
