USA Swimming Long Course Nationals: SwimMAC Sets Meet Record in Men’s 400 Medley Relay

PALO ALTO, California, August 6. A foursome from SwimMAC put together a meet record in the men's 400 medley relay to conclude the USA Swimming Long Course Nationals.
Nick Thoman (53.70), Kevin Swander (1:00.03), Tim Phillips (51.63) and Davis Tarwater (48.34) clocked a time of 3:33.70. That swim crushed the listed meet record of 3:38.32 from 2007, but came up short of the U.S. Open record of 3:32.48 set by the U.S. at the 2010 Pan Pacific Championships.
Tucson Ford's Cory Chitwood (56.06), Clark Burckle (1:02.28), A.J. Tipton (53.40) and Matt Grevers (48.08) finished second in 3:39.82, while Stanford's Matt Thompson (56.97), Curtis Lovelace (1:01.24), Bobby Bollier (52.87) and Alex Coville (48.98) took third in 3:40.06.
Club Wolverine (3:40.36), SwimMAC B (3:41.12), Stanford B (3:44.06), Ohio State (3:44.63) and Trojan (3:44.70) made up the rest of the top eight.
