USA Swimming has announced the names of the assistant coaches who will guide the American squad into this summer’s World Championships in Singapore. The coaching staff was made public on Tuesday, three days after the conclusion of the United States National Championships in Indianapolis.
North Carolina State coach Braden Holloway was previously named the head coach for the men and women at the World Champs and he’ll be supported by eight assistant coaches. The pool staff is a mix of head coaches and college assistants.
Here is a look at the coaching roster:
Ron Aitken (Sandpipers of Nevada)
Herbie Behm (Arizona State)
Courtney Caldwell (Virginia)
Ray Looze (Indiana)
Anthony Nesty (Florida)
Jim Nickell (Bend Swim Club)
Erik Posegay (Texas)
Noah Yanchulis (Cal)
Nationa’s Capital Swim Club’s Bruce Gemmell will serve as head coach of the open-water squad, and will be assisted by Maddy Olson (Minnesota).
Of course, USA Swimming National Team Managing Director Greg Meehan will play a vital role in the preparation of Team USA for action in Singapore. The former women’s head coach at Stanford, Meehan was named to his new role in April.
