DUBLIN, Ireland, April 30. IF you missed the live SwimmingWorld.TV broadcast from night number two of Irish Nationals, shame on you. This is a monumental event – SwimmingWorld.TV bringing you live coverage from an international meet, integrated with videos from a select junior team trip. Not to mention the swims you missed out on.
How about a 15 year old winning the 100 back in a 57.8? And the best part, Jack Conger is a 200 backstroker. I can't wait to see him Sunday.
How about Rachel Naurath? One of the most versatile junior freestylers in America took charge in the 800 freestyle.
Speaking of versatile freestylers, how about the battle that Clay Youngquist had with Irish distance star Andrew Meegan? For the second night in a row, Meegan got the meet started with a thrilling finish by touching out an NCSA All Star. Meegan proved his swimming IQ by making his move with 250 to go, just a bit out of Younquist's end race kick comfort zone, and specifically on laps that Youngquist was breathing away from him.
Clay dug deep and made a legit run the last 50 when he had a lot of reasons to settle for second, like the fact that he had the semifinal of the 100 free coming up in 10 minutes. Younquist stepped up big in that semifinal, qualifying second, and after sitting down for an interview with the high school junior, I really wasn't surprised. The video is found below.
