Speedo Sectionals competition resumed at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in North Carolina this evening.

SwimMAC dominated in the women’s 100-yard backstroke, making up the entire A-final and grabbing the top two spots in the B-final. Caroline Hauder topped the event in a blistering 53.84, while 15-year-old Madelyn Flickinger finished second in a 54.36. 200-yard freestyle champion Sinclair Larson took third place with a 54.41. Teammates Sophie Lindner, Stephanie Nelson, and Jane Donahue were also included in the top 10 finishers.

SwimMAC Carolina’s Julia Menkhaus continued her outstanding meet, garnering first-place honors in the women’s 200-yard butterfly to start off the meet, against some stiff competition. She finished in a time of 1:58.98 to second-place Elysse Pardus of South Carolina Swim Club’s 1:59.84. Third place Lindsay Cohee of SwimMAC came in just shy of under two minutes in 2:00.02.

SwimMAC’s William Chan overtook Albiero in the men’s 50 freestyle, stopping the clock in a quick 20.14 to Albiero’s 20.23. Jacob DeMercurio finished third in the event with a time of 20.56.

The women’s 200-yard breaststroke saw some fast swims, SwimMAC’s Donahue coming out on top in 2:12.84. Unattached Bethany Leap’s time of 2:13.32 was good for second place, and Donahue’s 16-year-old teammate Lillian Higgs finished third in 2:14.08.

SwimMAC went 1-2-3 in the men’s breaststroke, with Chan stepping right back up to the blocks and blasting a 1:59.08 for first place, just ahead of teammate Lucas Johnson‘s 1:59.46. Colson Zucker was third with a 2:02.26.

The women’s 500 freestyle was a tight race, with Larson just out-touching 15-year-old Eleanor Marquardt of Aquatic Team of Mecklenburg in 4:53.30 to Marquardt’s 4:53.36. Third was Chattahoochee Gold’s Bayler Frierson in 4:55.22.
