Skyline Wins Washington 4A State Championship

The Washington Girls 4A championship concluded this morning and Skyline High School posted multiple impressive finished to win the state. They ended the meet with 243 points, followed by Wenatchee with 232 and Issaquah with 199.5.
The meet kicked off with the 200 medley relay. The Jackson team of Madison Pressler, Nicole Limberg, Chloe Limargo, and Alexis Nims took first in a time of 1:47.41. They were followed by Christina Bradley, Danika Himes, Lauren Sayles, and Sarah Dimeco of Skyline in a time of 1:47.71. The Wenatchee squad of Kallie Wulf, Rae Ann Dressel, Jessica Wierzbicki, and Isabelle Dressel finished thrid in 1:48.00.
Dimeco followed up the relay with a winning time of 1:49.37 in the 200 free. Yulia Groysman of Newport finished second in 1:51.60, and Pressler finished third with a time of 1:51.84.
It was more dominance for the Skyline women in the 200 IM, with Bradley taking first in 2:04.27. Limberg grabbed second with 2:04.98 and Emma Frey of Mount Vernon took third with a 2:07.27.
Gabrielle Dang of Inglemoor dominated the 50 free, touching in 23.06. She was followed by Dressel in 24.00 and Paige Gardner of Walla Walla in 24.16.
McKenna Webster of Sumner dominated the 1 meter diving with a score of 420.75. In second was Ali Pierce of Eastmont with a score of 371.10 and in third was Kylie Mosset of Woodinville with a score of 360.90.
In the 100 fly, Mount Vernon’s Emma Carlton posted a 54.01 to win. Bothell’s Jazlynn Pak took second in 55.98 and Wierzbicki took third in 56.10.
Dang completed the sprint freestyle sweep, winning the 100 free in 50.83. Bradley took second in 51.65 and Kamiak’s Elli Straume took third in 52.41.
After her 200 freestyle victory, DiMeco won the 500 freestyle in 4:51.00. She was followed again by Groysman in 4:59.27. Richland’s Claire Schaef took third in 5:04.02.
Kamiak High School broke the meet record to win the 200 freestyle relay in a time of 1:37.74. The team consisted of Song-Nhi Vo, Stina Seaberg, Angeline Dovinh, and Straume. They were followed by Isabelle Dressel, Wulf, Jordan Hartley, and Wierzbicki of Wenatchee in 1:38.01. Issaquah took third in 1:38.84 posted by Isabelle Huynh, Natalie Sun, Abigail Paxton, and Belle Battistoni.
Mount Vernon’s Frey won the 100 backstroke in 55.77. Newport’s Rachel Nguyen took second in 56.88 and Puyallup’s Kacey Kiuchi took third in 57.66.
In the final individual event, the 100 breastroke, Jackson’s Limberg won in 1:02.23. Isabelle Dressel took second in 1:02.56, and Limargo took third in 1:04.82.
The Skyline women won the 400 free relay in 3:30.60 with a squad of Bradley, Catherine McRae, Stephanie Young, and DiMeco. Jackson took second, as Limargo, Nims, Limberg, and Pressler swam to a 3:33.46. In third was Newport, who finished with a time of 3:34.47 posted by Groysman, Nguyen, Eva Smerekanych, and Samantha Baron.
