Poll: What is the Greatest World Record of Michael Phelps’ Career (VOTE HERE!)
One day after he turned 40 years old, Swimming World continues to celebrate the impact of Michael Phelps on the sport. Today, we feature our latest poll, one which asks this question: Which world record is the greatest of Phelps’ Hall of Fame career. Phelps produced an astounding 39 world records before his retirement after the 2016 Olympics, so there is no shortage of options.
We have listed four Phelps world records as choices, although the option exists to select a world-record performance that does not appear among the suggestions. Of the four choices specifically provided in the poll, two of the world records were posted at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, while two of the global standards were registered at the 2007 World Championships in Melbourne.
While we identified four performances that arrived at meets where Phelps was at his peak and a perfect 15-for-15 in his combined swims, it will be interesting to see what readers – through the “other” choice – might otherwise prefer.
