Poll: What Individual Women’s World Record Was Most Impressive at World Short Course Champs (VOTE HERE!)

Earlier this week, Swimming World put together a poll that asked readers to choose the most impressive individual men’s world record from the recently concluded World Short Course Championships in Budapest. The Cayman Islands’ Jordan Crooks was a runaway winner in the voting, thanks to his world record of 19.90 in the 50-meter freestyle. Crooks beat out American Luke Hobson (200 freestyle) and Switzerland’s Noe Ponti (50 butterfly/100 butterfly) in the poll.

Now, it’s time for the women’s poll, which can be found below. Four women – Gretchen Walsh, Regan Smith, Kate Douglass and Summer McIntosh – established world records at the World Short Course Champs. They starred throughout the six-day competition at Duna Arena, helping to significantly alter the record book. In some cases, they destroyed world records that had endured for some time.

While Walsh set standards in the 50 freestyle, 50 butterfly, 100 fly and 100 individual medley, Smith set world marks in all three backstrokes events. Meanwhile, McIntosh bettered global marks in the 400 freestyle, 200 butterfly and 400 I.M. while Douglass was a record-setter in the 200 breaststroke and 200 I.M. Overall, Walsh set 11 world records in Budapest.

Take a look at the options below and cast your vote for which world record was the most impressive from the World Champs.

You should list the FINA points for each swim to better determine the level of the swim
