Miguel Ortiz Dominates On Final Day Of Oklahoma Elite Pro-Am
Miguel Ortiz capped off his weekend in Oklahoma with two wins on Sunday, the fourth and final day of the Oklahoma Elite Pro-Am. Ortiz, who swims for Club Wolverine, won both the 100-yard freestyle and 50-yard backstroke.
The evening began with the women’s 200-yard backstroke. Kansas City Swim Academy’s Sarah Allegri won the event with a time of 2:03.49. She barely beat Martina Thomas of Razorback Aquatic Club, who finished in 2:03.69. Badger Swim Club’s James Wells won the men’s event in 1:42.89.
SwimMAC North Carolina’s Madison Kennedy won the women’s 100-yard freestyle. She posted a time of 47.87. Ortiz took the men’s event in 42.57, just ahead of New York Aquatic Club’s Josh Schneider.
Razorback Aquatic Club’s Taylor Pike brought home the victory in the women’s 200-yard butterfly. Pike posted a time of 1:56.53. New York Aquatic Club’s Mike Alexandrov earned the win in the 200-yard butterfly, winning the race by over a half-second. He touched in 1:50.31.
Kansas City Swim Academy’s Cailey Grunhard took the women’s 50-yard backstroke. The 17-year-old posted a time of 25.82. In the men’s event, Ortiz won in 21.09. Indie Swimming’s Michael Andrew finished second with a time of 21.60.
Lindsay Vrooman of Badger Swim Club won the women’s 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 15:59.57. Zane Grothe, also of Badger Swim Club, took the men’s crown in 14:48.93.
Razorback Aquatic Club won the women’s 200-yard freestyle relay. The team of Thomas, Taylor Pike, Olivia Keith and Hayley Pike posted a time of 1:38.53. Splash Club finished in second and Charger Aquatics took third.
In the men’s event, American Energy took first with a time of 1:26.08. The team consisted of Josh Davis, Alan Tran, Joseph Short and Jonathan Ye. Northwest Arkansas Aquatics finished in second place.
American Energy Swim Club won the meet on the men’s side with 513 points. Razorback Aquatic Club took the women’s title with 705 points.
