Michael Chadwick Sprints to Victory at 2017 Charlotte UltraSwim
The 2017 Charlotte UltraSwim concluded with Michael Chadwick sprinting to a dominant victory in the men’s 100 free.
Joanna Melo and Robert McHugh added the 400 IM to their list of victories, while Olympian Leah Smith dabbled in the 400 IM.
Women’s 100 Free
Courtney Caldwell topped the field in finals of the women’s 100 free with a time of 55.11.
Andrea Murez grabbed second overall with a time of 55.68, followed by Caitlin Cooper and her time of 56.84.
Men’s 100 Free
Michael Chadwick dominated the men’s 100 free with a sizzling 48.69, scratching 1.32 seconds off his prelims time of 50.01.
Matheus Santana grabbed second overall with a 50.77, while John Whiteside was third with a 51.43.
Women’s 400 IM
Joanna Melo and Leah Smith delivered a tight race in finals of the women’s 400 IM. Melo added to her victories with a top showing of 4:41.42, while Smith successfully dabbled in the IM with a 4:42.94 showing.
Olivia Carter rounded out the top three with a time of 4:57.78.
Men’s 400 IM
Robert McHugh, swimming unattached, posted the top time for the men’s 400 IM at a sizzling 4:23.56, winning the event by eight seconds.
Wolfpack’s Mason Revis turned in a 4:31.76 for second, just ahead of teammate Lucca Martins and his time of 4:34.24.
