Miami (OH) University Women Down Buffalo Women, 170.5-129.5
The Miami (OH) University women’s team defeated the women of Buffalo 170.5-129.5.
Miami Press Release:
UB women’s swimming and diving headed to Miami (OH.) for their second MAC meet of the year. They were looking for their second-straight conference win after beating Ball State last weekend. Unfortunately, the Bulls lost, 170.5-129.5, in the pool and the diving well.
Despite the loss, UB won seven of 16 events. Jess Powers led the way with wins in the 1000 yard and 500 yard freestyle races and picked up a third-place finish in the 200 yard freestyle. Impressively, the 1000 yard and 200 yard freestyle were back-to-back in the dual meet.
Sarah Baxter finished second place in the 50 yard freestyle, 100 yard freestyle, and the 200 IM. Julia Box finished second and only .19 from first in the 100 yard backstroke. In the 100 yard butterfly Box finished first with a time of 56.89.
Hannah Miller finished behind Powers in the 1000 yard freestyle before finishing fourth in 500 freestyle.
Both the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will next compete at the Bucknell Invite. They will compete from November 20-22.
