Mexico, Brazil Strong on Day One at UANA Swimming Cup
Mexico and Brazil posted the strongest team performances on the first day of the UANA Swimming Cup, with Mexico taking home nine wins and Brazil earning seven top honors. Read below for event-by-event coverage of each event contested Friday in Coral Springs, Fla.
To open the meet, Mexico’s Tania Naranjo Carballeda won the 11-12 girls’ 400 free in 4:44.17. Her countrywoman Belem Santaolaya Rivera took second in 4:51.47, and Brazil’s Tyara Ramos took third (4:51.52).
