Matt Willenbring, Kaitlyn Johnson Post Olympic Trials Cuts in Geneva
Matt Willenbring and Kaitlyn Johnson each posted Olympic Trials cuts on the final night of the 2016 Speedo Sectionals in Geneva.
Matt Willenbring cleared the Olympic Trials cut in the men’s 200-meter IM with a time of 2:04.96. Kyle Maas finished second in 2:06.55 with Ian Miskelley taking third in 2:10.26.
Kaitlyn Johnson just cleared the Olympic Trials cut of 56.49 with a 56.45 in the women’s 100-meter free. Lauren Heller (57.42) and Diana Dunn (57.74) finished second and third.
Earlier, Dunn won the women’s 200-meter IM in 2:19.15. Olivia Johnson placed second in 2:21.83 with Hanna Gresser earning third in 2:22.27.
Daniel Kanorr topped the men’s 100-meter free in 51.66 with Timothy Squires taking second in 51.96. Meli Malani earned third in 52.74.
Elisabeth Peskin won the women’s 1500-meter free in 17:36.74 with Isabella Ratino taking second in 17:51.52. Rachel Sabotin placed third in 17:54.66.
Joseph Snodderly claimed the men’s 800-meter free in 8:26.96 with Skyler Cook-Weeks taking second in 8:30.24. Alexander Capizzo finished third in 8:31.61.
