It was a good day for the Alabama men’s 200-yard medley relay.
The relay team of backstroker Connor Oslin, breaststroker Pavel Romanov, butterflier Brett Walsh and freestyler Kristian Gkolomeev won the event with an NCAA ‘A’ qualifying time of 1:24.49. The team was led by a 18.75 freestyle split from Gkolomeev. The Crimson Tide’s relay was the only ‘A’ time standard of the evening.
Florida Gulf Coast won the women’s 200-yard medley relay. The team finished with a time of 1:38.90 and was made up of backstroker Elise Haan, breaststroker Katie Armitage, butterflier Yee Ching Wong and freestyler Katie Latham.
Mia Nonnenberg of Alabama won the women’s 400-yard individual medley, finishing with a time of 4:07.53. South Carolina’s Tom Peribonio won the men’s 400-yard individual medley event by over three seconds.
Alabama’s Hannah Musser claimed the victory in the women’s 100-yard butterfly with a time of 53.37. Coming off the 200-yard medley relay victory, Walsh won the men’s event with a time of 46.44.
Maddie Monroe of Arkansas brought home the women’s 200-yard freestyle win with a time of 1:45.84. Alabama freshman Chris Arseneau won the men’s event with a time of 1:36.10.
The Crimson Tide continued to role in the 100-yard breaststroke. Anton McKee and Bridget Blood won the men’s and women’s events, respectively, for Alabama.
With a time of 52.52, Haan won the 100-yard backstroke for Florida Gulf Coast. Oslin went a 46.00 to win the men’s 100-yard backstroke for the Crimson Tide.
The meet concluded with the 800-yard freestyle relay. Alabama swept the event. The women posted a time of 7:15.20 and the men went a 6:27.19.
Tomorrow is the last day of the meet. The men and women will swim the 1650-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly and 400-yard freestyle relay.
Going into the final day of competition, Alabama leads all men’s teams and Arkansas is the team leader for the women.
