France has announced their final roster for the 2019 World Championships in Gwangju, South Korea.

In total, the French delegation will be sending eleven athletes to the 2019 World Championships. Charlotte Bonnet, Mehdy Metella, and Fantine Lessafre were all pre-selected for Worlds based on their medals at the 2018 European Championships, while eight more athletes were selected at last week’s French Nationals.

In a release from the Federacion Francaise de Natation (FFN), Director Richard Martinez commented that although the numbers were lower than he had hoped, the results were still “encouraging.” The 2019 World Championships roster has two more athletes than at the 2017 roster, and Martinez points out that is with the retirement of five-time World Champion Camille Lacourt.
