Featured Camp: Hartwick College Competitive Camps
The Hartwick College Competitive Swimming & Diving Camps comprise extensive programming for male and female athletes ages 8-18, emphasizing improvement in the fundamental skills of competitive swimmers and divers. Morning, afternoon and evening sessions will balance time spent with water and dry-land training. We offer above and under-water filming and analysis, while lecture content addresses nutrition, mental preparation, strength training, and more.
The sprint/distance camps emphasize conditioning and proper training of the major energy systems. Our diving camp concentrates on technical improvement on 1- and 3-meter springboard diving. The stroke camp enables competitive swimmers to develop skills and techniques in starts, turns, IM, and competitive strokes. Special two and three-week sessions are available. Camp director and Hartwick’s swim and dive coach, Dale Rothenberger, will be joined by a staff of highly experienced coaches, counselors and guest clinicians (1:5 staff/camper ratio). Our enrollment limit guarantees individual attention and frequent feedback!

Designed for serious swimmers, the camp teaches the latest in swimming techniques in a fun-filled setting. Time is provided for relaxation and the program includes a pizza and movie night, Oneonta Outlaws baseball game, Hartwick swim camp survivor, and a trip to a local state park.
The camp will help swimmers learn the mental and physical aspects of meet preparation, as well as all the new technical aspects of competitive swimming (strokes, starts and turns). Training includes lactose tolerance, anaerobic threshold, maximum oxygen consumption, and speed and race pace training. Campers nine and under follow the same schedule with a more relaxed, fun-filled approach by a specific coach.
