The 50 free is a short race and requires a strong game plan, which is exactly what Erika Brown had.
“I wanted to be super aggressive off the start and through my exit and get out ahead right away and just be really confident and big throughout the whole race,” explained Brown.
For Brown, this win was not just for her, it was also for her team. It’s a family (team) affair. Following her 50 free victory, Brown had a short turnaround before joining with teammates Bailey Grinter, Nikol Popov, and Trude Rorthrock for victory in the women’s 400 medley relay.
While Brown says she met some of her goals, no matter what she is going to go back home, reflect, and figure out how to get better.
