Egg Harbor Seahawks Win Christiansburg Speedo Sectionals

The Egg Harbor Seahawks won the 2018 Speedo Sectionals Championship Series in Christiansburg, Va, with a total of 928 points. Second went to Monocacy Aquatic Club with 764.5 points, followed by Nation’s Capital (711), Machine Aquatics (672) and Radnor (623.5).

Retrievers’ Morgan Liberto began the night with a win in the women’s 200 back, stopping the clock in 1:57.12. Snow Swimming’s Janika Perezous posted a 2:00.72 for second followed by third-place finisher Abby Reardon (2:01.13) of Dig Swimming.

Egg Harbor’s Cristian Bell won the men’s 200 back by over one second in 1:48.03. Monocacy’s Benjamin Hicks (1:49.33) was second and Lancaster’s Joseph Moll (1:50.12) took third.

Nation’s Capital’s Krysten Davis sprinted her way to a win in the women’s 100 free, getting her hand to the wall in 51.09. Monocacy’s Natalie Kucsan was second in 51.50 and Machine’s Stephanie Hallock finished third in 52.17.

Egg Harbor’s Joseph Rogers got the gold medal in the men’s 100 free with a time of 45.51. Machine’s Atalay Onol grabbed the silver in 45.60 and Moll earned the bronze in 47.33.

Egg Harbor’s Katie McClintock won the women’s 200 IM in 2:05.44, followed by Liberto in 2:07.11 and Sea Devil’s Sophie Duncan in 2:07.85.

Monocacy’s Kevin Lin touched the wall first in the men’s 200 IM with a time of 1:52.12, followed by Williamsburg’s Christopher Kostelni (1:54.31) and Moll (1:54.59) to conclude the individual events.

Radnor’s Annika Edwards (59.27), Grace Wakiyama (1:05.51), Anna Kalandadze (57.07) and Madison Ledwith (50.49) won the 4×100 medley relay in a time of 3:52.34. Retriever Aquatics finished second in 3:53.37 and Eagle Swim Team was third in 3:53.53.

Machine’s Jayaprakash Kambhampaty (50.93), Michael Burns (58.52), Joel Harman (52.41) and Atalay Onol (44.92) won the 4×100 medley relay in 3:26.78. Monocacy was second in 3:27.67 and Egg Harbor was third in 3:29.40.
