Eastin Shines At Art Adamson Invitational
It hasn’t taken long for Ella Eastin to make an impact on college swimming. The Stanford freshman notched an ‘A’ time standard in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:54.53.
Eastin wasn’t the only swimmer to earn an ‘A’ cut in the women’s 200-yard individual medley event. Bethany Galat of Texas A&M made the time standard by just over one-tenth of a second and finished second in the race.
Stanford started off the evening with a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The Cardinals notched an ‘A’ cut and defeated second place Texas A&M by nearly two seconds. LSU won the men’s event, out-touching Air Force.
Sarah Gibson of Texas A&M won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:42.43. Bence Kiraly of Utah won the men’s event with a time of 4:16.79.
After Eastin and Galat’s 200-yard individual medley race, Brandon Goldman of LSU won the men’s race with a time of 1:46.46.
Beryl Gastaldello won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.86. Gastaldello’s time was exactly that of the ‘A’ time standard. Alex Linge of LSU won the men’s event with a time of 20.01.
Stanford earned an ‘A’ time standard and won the 400-yard medley relay by over three seconds. On the men’s side, LSU took the 400-medley relay title.
