Colorado State Record Holder Grace Perry Hands Georgia First 2028 Verbal
NEW COMMIT: The University of Georgia has recorded its first public verbal commitment for Fall 2028 from Grace Perry of Monument, Colo. Perry is a talented sprinter who owns several Junior National cuts.
Her older sister, Abigail Perry, is currently a sophomore freestyler at Ohio State.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am so happy to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Georgia’s Swim & Dive team! After a few very exciting days, I’m thrilled to finally share this. First off, I would like to thank Coaches Stefanie, Fernando, and Jerry from UGA for believing in me and being truly kind throughout this difficult process. Thanks to the Georgia girls for being welcoming and friendly. Also, I would like to thank my coaches from the Falfins, especially Coaches Jorge and Tristan, for helping me get to this point in my swimming journey. Next, I would like to thank my mom and dad for all the sacrifices they’ve made and all the support they’ve given me. Lastly, thank you to my sisters Megan and Abigail for their good examples and for leading the way.”
Perry, who trains year-round with Falfins Swimming, most recently competed at Junior Nationals where she placed 13th in the 200m free and 28th in the 100m free. That was after she won the 50m fly, 100m fly, 100m free and 200m IM at Colorado Long Course Seniors. Perry had a fantastic showing at Boise Speedo Sectionals in March, earning five best times and winning all six of her events.
Her best times include:
- 100 free – 49.84
- 200 free – 1:46.98
- 50 free – 23.06
- 50 fly – 25.09
- 100 fly – 53.31
- 200 IM – 2:00.14
Currently a junior at Lewis Palmer High School, Perry won the 100 fly and the 200 free at the 2026 Colorado 4A State Championships while helping her 4×50 free relay earn gold. Her time of 53.89 in the 100 fly set a state record. The NISCA All-American was the runner-up in the 100 fly and 200 free at the state meet as a freshman in 2025, also swimming on the winning 4×50 and 4×100 free relays.
Georgia finished eighth at the 2026 Southeastern Conference Championships and 15th at the 2026 NCAA Championships. Perry’s best time in the 200 IM would’ve scored in the C-final at last year’s conference meet.
