Cameron van der Burgh Clocks 2nd-Fastest 50 Breast of Year 27.17

Cameron van der Burgh put up the second-fastest time of the year in the men’s 50-meter breast at the 2016 South African Nationals.

Van der Burgh, who already owns the top time with a 27.08 from the Swedish Open in Stockholm, raced his way to a win in 27.17. That’s faster than the 27.21 posted by Adam Peaty this week at the British Championships.

Giulio Zorzi finished second in a time of 27.50 to move to fifth in the world, while Jarred Crous wound up third in 27.99.
