Caeleb Dressel’s 100 Free Best Time Highlights Night One of Tennessee Invite
Caeleb Dressel highlighted tonight’s performances at the Tennessee Aquatics June Invitation. Dressel recorded a best time in the 100 freestyle, stopping the clock in 48.74. Andrew Marsh was second in 50.25 and Roland Schoeman placed third with a 51.03.
Megan Romano was the women’s 100 freestyle champion with 55.86, just ahead of Alia Atkinson in 56.08. Natalie Hings finished third in 56.68.
Romano picked up another win, finishing the 100 backstroke in 1:02.00 ahead of Elizabeth Beisel in 1:02.25. Micah Bohon finished third in 1:03.29.
Beisel came back for 400 freestyle gold with a 4:10.87. Ashley Neidigh swam to silver in 4:18.24, touching just before Erica Laning in 4:18.82.
Molly Hannis clocked a 2:27.31 in the 200 breaststroke tonight. Kersten Dirrane out touched Jenny Wilson 2:34.47 to 2:34.93 for second.
Jorge Murillo Valdes was well ahead of the field in the men’s 200 breaststroke with a 2:15.99. Brad Craig was second (2:17.50) and Bryar Long finished third (2:17.85).
In the men’s 100 backstroke Christopher Reid stopped the clock in 54.99. Luke Kaliszak (55.47) and Sean Lehane (55.61) completed the podium performances.
Nicholas Sweetser posted a 3:54.44 to win the men’s 400 freestyle. Trey Freeman was second with a 3:57.92 and David Heron finished third in 3:58.66.
