Brendan Burns, Matt Fallon Take Down YMCA National Records on Night Three
Double winners and National Records highlighted the third night of competition at the 2019 YMCA National Championships in Greensboro.
Bradford’s Paige Hetrick won both the 100 Backstroke and 200 Freestyle on the women’s side, while Matt Fallon and Brendan Burns set new YMCA National Records in the 400 IM and 200 Freestyle, respectively. Both surged up the USA All-Time Rankings in these events, as Fallon is now the second-fastest performer ever in the 15-16 age group. He is second only to Michael Phelps.
After four events for each gender on night three, Greater Spartanburg YMCA leads the overall team standings at 320 points. Their women rank fifth overall with 109 points and their men have the lead with 211. Red Bank Branch YMCA is in second (278) and Sarasota Family YMCA sits third in the standings with 235 points – just five ahead of Triangle Area YMCA.
