Boise State Sweeps Relays on Night One of Mountain West Championships
Day one of the 2017 Mountain West Swimming and Diving Championships began in College Station, Texas.

Boise State began the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay. The team of Allyson Kleinsorgen (24.70), Robin Pinger (27.81), Katelyn Martin (23.17), and Abbey Sorensen (21.98) posted a time of 1:37.66. Their time was just .06 off of the meet record.
Wyoming’s Isobel Ryan (24.89), Maria Harutjunjan (27.35), Samantha Burke (24.08), and Danielle Badger (22.73) took second in 1:39.05 while San Diego State’s Katharine Santilena (25.42), Morganne McKenna (28.23), Summer Harrison (23.36), and Alma Thormalm (22.16) finished in a close third in 1:39.17.
Nevada’s Sharae Zheng took gold in the 1m diving event, posting a score of 359.35. Wyoming’s Karla Contreras (355.45) and Nevada’s Zoe Lei (328.60) rounded out the top three.
Boise State swept both relays tonight, also taking the top spot in the 800 free relay. Emma Chard (1:45.53), Brittany Aoyama (1:44.27), Amelia Draney (1:47.43), and Felicity Cann (1:46.73) posted a time of 7:03.96, dropping over six seconds off their seed time.
Nevada’s Teresa Baerens (1:46.16), Andressa Cholodovskis Lima (1:48.09), Sita Kusserow (1:47.45), and Rebecca Murray (1:46.08) took second in 7:07.78. San Diego State’s McKenna Meyer (1:47.80), Frida Bergen (1:47.82), Peyton Wilson (1:51.93), and Kassidy Henson (1:50.24) took third in 7:17.79.
