Boston’s Steph Nasson started Thursday night’s session off with a win in the women’s 500 free, finishing in 4:47.04. She was able to hold off runner-up Rachael Dudley of Navy who finished in 4:47.22. Army’s Sabrina Mortell took third in 4:49.59, and Lehigh’s Cora Summerfield won the B-Final in 4:53.20.
Navy dominated the men’s 500 free, sweeping the top three spots. Noah Martin won in 4:17.96, knocking five seconds off his prelim time. Alex Nickell touched second in 4:21.48 and Thomas Duvall finished third in 4:21.58. Army’s Evin Rude won the B-Final in 4:29.38.
Navy freshman Lauren Barber dominated the women’s 200 IM, winning by nearly five seconds in a time of 1:57.89. Her time broke her own league and meet record she set earlier this morning.
Barber’s teammate Ellen Bradford finished second in 2:02.29 and Boston’s Mika Spencer took third in 2:02.96. Lehigh’s Courtney Ferreira won the B-Final in 2:05.12.
Boston’s Quinn Smith had a strong front half to win the men’s 200 IM in 1:47.85. Navy’s Brayden Lauffer took second in 1:48.05 and Lehigh’s Jacob Moyar took third in 1:48.67. Navy’s Hayes McCullagh won the B-Final in 1:48.23.
Navy’s Kenzie Margroum swam to first in the women’s 50 free in 22.71. Lehigh’s Kaitlyn Ruffing took second in 22.88 as Army’s Molly Mucciarone rounded out the top three in 23.03. Boston’s Julimar Avila won the B-Final in 23.51.
Army freshman Brandon McCredie won the men’s 50 free in 20.13. Lehigh’s Jamal Willis took second in 20.23 and Navy’s Joseph Jaime finished third in 20.27. Navy’s Zachary Piedt won the B-Final in 20.47.
Boston went 1-2 in the women’s 1m diving event. Kyra Tatlow won with 269.60 while teammate Kalli Roebelen took second with 263.90. Navy’s Julie Jesse was third (263.35).
Navy cruised to first place in the women’s 400 medley relay, finishing in 3:39.01. The team of Elizabeth Graeff, Lauren Barber, Hannah Briant (53.97), and Maddie Thompson (48.93) broke the pool record set by NBAC in 2011.
Navy also won the men’s 400 medley relay, setting a new meet record. The team of David Carlson (48.23), Marlin Brutkiewicz (52.85), Jonathan Debaugh (46.25), and Thomas Duvall (43.37) finished in 3:10.70.
Friday prelims will begin at 10:30am EST.
